Tired Two-Year-Old Thursday
I woke Stephen up this morning, bribing him with a piece of candy so that I could get him dressed and in the Jeep in a hurry. I know, I know; Bad Mommy.
We went to storytime and then to McDonald's as we usually do on Thursdays with Tots@Play. Mr. John has his brother at storytime and Stephen mobbed the poor guy. He just would not leave him alone! It's sad to me how much Stevie misses Josh. He's going to really need some one-on-one time with daddy when he gets home.
I'm not too sure what all we have planned for today besides this. Stephen wants to lay down and watch Spongebob for a bit. I don't really want him to nap today so that we can go to bed early. Logan will be over with us bright and early tomorrow morning and I need Stevie to be well rested. Too bad it's too cold to go to the park!

Silence: More Musical Than Any Song
It has been quiet and peaceful in the Moody- Chiperno household. Last night Lucy Lou even slept in the room with us. This time last year I couldn't even say I liked Lucy, but now that she is over that first-year mark, she has really calmed down and began listening a lot better. In the room last night I could hear Stephen snores, then Lucy snores; Almost quiet is good enough for me!
Lucy's diet is going good. I think she's lost at least half of her 10 pound goal. I wish my diet was going as well!
Other than that, Texas has been in the 20s and 30s. This morning we woke up to a layer of ice covering everything. We only left the house to get groceries at the PX, but when going to the car Stephen fell right on his butt. He was NOT fond of the ice, to say the least!

Off to an uneventful start
Yesterday we managed to stay busy. Stephen spent his afternoon with Mr. Bear in the potty showing Mr. Bear where he is to do his business. I have pictures of Stephen holding him over the porcelain throne. I had to hold back my giggles and play the serious mommy and talk about what Mr. Bear did in the potty and what Stephen should try to do, too.
We also made it to Chuckee's last night with his buddy, Logan. We didn't stay a long time because Logan wasn't very comfortable and Stephen was all over the place. I think the best time the boys had was running around by the ramp outside of Chuckee's together. Since that part of their playdate was so short, we came to our home and played with the cars and keyboard for a while before bringing Logan home. Stephen fell asleep in the car almost instantly and Logan and I took turns imitating the sounds Stephen was making. I had a lot of fun with the two of them; They were both impecably behaved. I am SO glad to be past the hitting and stepping over the "Everything is Mine" phase.
Today we had a speech appointment. Stephen has been making some remarkable improvements, but I think Brandon is going to start visiting more that Laurie because he seems to respond a lot better to a male. I think he's really missing daddy lately. He has even started an interest in the phone and if he says more than, "Hello? Hello?" he usually asks for daddy or tries to tell daddy something, even if there's no one on the line. It is icky outside, and I need to get in the shower here soon and muster up the energy to go to the post office. (Such a daunting task with Stevie!) Other than that, I'm not sure what we'll end up doing.

This Time Last Year
Check out my little Stud Stevie one year and one day ago! I was just reminiscing about "My baby" with Josh this morning when he called. He is SO MUCH bigger and even more independent.
This month last year Stevie B. Good went on his first zoo trip with Tots @ Play, he slept in his toddler bed for the first time, he discovered Hank's Town and the Radijazz Playnasium, he traveled Austin with daddy, and took home his first dog, Lucy Lou. I know that last year when Stephen first did all of these things, that I thought these were just average run-of-the-mill days. Now part of me misses the messy face pictures I could take of him in his highchair and the big "Good Morning" smile he gave me from behind his crib. My little guy isn't so little already!

Rough Housing With Mom
We managed to lay around in our pajamas ALL day. Technically, the only time I left the house was to put our garbage at the curb. Poor Josh thinks he's missing something over here. Aside from how BIG Stephen is getting, our life is pretty darn boring.
Check out that picture of my little "Chick Magnent". He has been too cute lately! Hitting seems to be a thing of the past (though I pray I didn't just jinx it)! Tomorrow we'll have to do something fun. If it wasn't so cold out I would say the park. Maybe we'll make our way over to Chuck-E-Cheese's. That's one way to make it to the top of Stephen's favorite person list :)
Waking Up to WallE
So Stephen finally has a new craze! First, it was Tom & Jerry. I wasn't sure if he was ever going to watch anything but this and I know beating eachother with frying pan humor isn't what you want your kids watching, but trust me when I say I had little choice.
One day he decided Spongebob was his new friend. I had watched one DVD so many times that I switched it, but the new CD has Sandy and Spongebob doing karate (or karat'e as some say...) and the next thing I know my mini-me was yelling "Hi-Yah!" all over the house. Just great!
Anyhow, today when Stephen woke up all he wanted was "Walle". So far, I think that Walle is the least violent. Right. We're making steps in the right direction I think. Too bad the CareBears and My Little Ponies don't interest him; I could watch those all day!

Our Blogger Beginning
Rhandi has been on me to join blogger. I guess I can't just say no to her nagging. :)
Stephen B is 29 Months now. He is mastering the art of the terrible two's! Okay Okay...That's not entirely true. He has been very well behaved this week, but he wants to do everything on his own. Today at Walmart he wanted to push the kart even though he had to touch the handle on his tippy toes. Captain Stevie wanted to navigate me through the store (to the toy section, of course!). Everyone was watching him direct me and laughing, then he would sometimes stop to offer a stranger an apple slice from the baggie in his hand. That's my boy! Last but not least, he LOVES to swipe my card at checkout and even wants to sign his name.
The hubby Josh is in Afghanistan and we miss him terribly. He sounds very bored and is planning all sorts of projects when he gets back. He's also constantly plotting his truck purchase and infact declared, "It's all I want for Christmas." Isn't he reasonable?
I am much less entertaining than my better parts. I sleep late (sometimes past noon). As an example of how extremely lame I am, the highlight of my day today was a purchase I made at Walmart....Two new pillows. Exciting, right?
